Though most Jiobit users report a battery life of 2-14 days, we find that the battery will last an average of one week if you follow these energy-saving steps:
1. Position the Jiobit with the gray side facing up and outward
Your Jiobit gets the best signal, accuracy, and battery life when the grey side of the device is facing away from the body. If tracking a pet, try and position the Jiobit so it is facing the sky.
2. Keep your Bluetooth on
Connect to your phone’s Bluetooth when the Jiobit is close. This tells your Jiobit that it is in close enough range to base its location on that of your phone.
3. Always allow location access
Set “location access” to “always” in your phone settings. The Jiobit, when Bluetooth paired, can then use the phone’s location information without needing the app to be open. Remember-- it is only used to allow Jiobit to connect to you or a Care Team Member when in range.
4. Set up Wi-Fi connection
When your Jiobit is connected to WiFi, it improves the battery life and notifications since it no longer has to search for a signal. You can connect to your Wi-Fi network at home, or any Trusted Place as long as you have the password.
Go to Menu > Trusted Places > Add Wi-Fi on the preferred Trusted Place
5. Turn frequent destinations into “Trusted Places”
The Jiobit will go into power save mode once it’s inside of a Trusted Place boundary. Save on battery power and add places like your home, school, daycare, etc. Don’t worry-- your Jiobit will know to notify you when it leaves one of the Trusted Places.
Go to Menu > Trusted Places > Add
6. Invite Care Team members
Invite trusted family members and friends to your account, and save battery when a Care Team member’s phone is connected to the Jiobit through a Bluetooth connection.
Go to Menu > Care Team > Add
