AT&T– one of our cellular partners– has made the decision to shut down its nationwide 3G/4G network this February. When this happens, your first-generation Jiobit will solely rely on T-Mobile’s 2G and 3G/4G networks to connect.
There is nothing you will need to do as the device will connect to these T-Mobile networks automatically when Bluetooth or Wifi is unavailable. When you travel, Jiobit will continue to work on international networks as well, as the AT&T shutdown only impacts US-based usage.
However, the sooner you upgrade, the less chance you’ll experience any connection interruptions especially if you do not have T-Mobile coverage in your area. You can check T-Mobile coverage here.
