Can I disconnect my Bose or Skullcandy headphones from my Tile Account?
Yep! You can disconnect them from your Tile account in two ways. You can either factory reset your device, or you can permanently disable your device.
What is the difference between factory resetting your headphones and permanently disabling your headphones?
When you factory reset your headphones, it restores your headphones to factory settings. It allows you to remove them from your account, and gives you the option to reactivate it later. This reset can be done only when the headphones are in range and connected to the app.
When you permanently disable your headphones from Tile, it permanently disables Tile technology from our servers. This means it cannot be reactivated. This process can also be achieved remotely, when the headphones are not in range of the Tile app and is unable to connect.
How do I factory reset my headphones?
You can factory reset your headphones in three easy steps. Remember, when you reset your device, your Tile app needs to be in range and connected to your headphones, and you will have an option to reactivate it later.
Also, make sure to verify that your headphones are connected before performing the factory reset to avoid experiencing issues when you reactivate them. Here are the steps:
- In the Tile app, tap on the Tile you want to deactivate.
- Tap More Options, then tap Reset
- Tap Continue to confirm the Reset
Your device has been disconnected from Tile, and is ready to be reactivated at your convenience!
How do I permanently disable my headphones?
You can permanently disable your headphones by following the steps below. Remember, doing so permanently disables your device from our servers and cannot be reactivated. This option can only be used when the device is not in range of the Tile app and not able to connect. The steps are:
- In the Tile app, tap the Tile you want to deactivate.
- Tap More Options, then tap Reset
- Wait for the Tile app to scan for the headphones.
- The Tile app will be unable to find the headphones, Confirm the process twice
- Tap Continue to confirm reset
Once completed, Tile will be permanently disabled from your headphones.
