A few things have changed since the launch of iOS 13. We want to ensure you can find the things that matter most.
Why should I give Tile 'Always Allow’ location permission'?
When the location permission is set to Always Allow, the Tile app can perform its core features without restriction. It can update your Tile’s location history and enable the “Find My Phone” feature.
When location permission is set to Always Allow, what is the Tile App doing to reduce its battery usage on my device?
We are always working to reduce Tile's impact on your device's battery life and aim to keep Tile's share of your battery use at a minimum. Recently, we released Connection-on-Demand, a connectivity standard that provides more frequent updates with improved accuracy- all while using less battery power on your phone or device.
How do I make sure the Tile App has access to my device’s location services?
- Go into your device Settings, then tap Tile
- Under Allow Tile To Access, tap Location and select Always
To make sure Tile can access your Bluetooth:
- Select your iOS device’s Settings icon, then tap Tile
- Under Allow Tile To Access, Toggle On Bluetooth access

My iOS device keeps reminding me Tile is using my location services in the background. Is Tile using my location when it doesn’t need to?
iOS 13 is making an effort to create more ways for you to monitor how apps use location services. Part of this effort is periodic reminders of which apps have access to certain services.
Periodically, you will get a reminder of how many days Tile has used your location to find your Tiles. It is important to tap on 'Always Allow' so Tile can continue to serve you.
Here at Tile, we value your privacy and take great strides to make sure Tile is there for you with the most accurate and up-to-date information. In order for Tile to perform correctly and dependably, the Tile app requires access to location and Bluetooth services on your device. The Tile Community is completely safe and anonymous. Tile uses location services entirely for one benefit: to connect you with the things that matter most when it matters most.
Tile does not sell personal information. We believe that customer personal data should only be used to operate a business that provides our customers with the best products and services possible.
